I am extremely excited about the upcoming trek!!
The reality check starts to assess myself…WHY?? WHEN LAST?? HOW??
Trekking So far…..
I joined University Mountaineering club in 1984 after I had visited Himalayan Terrain( Nainital, Ranikhet, Kausani) for the first time in 1983 (Second year Undergraduate). Mountains fascinated me. My farthest trip till then was Varanasi.
We had some theory classes where recent photographs of mountaineering/trekking trips were projected apart from magazines and verbal experience sharing. Due to our different examination schedule across Science and Engineering faculties, my first mountaineering training happened in February 1986 while doing my Msc 1st year. Yes!!!! I completed my Basic Mountaineering and was recommended for Higher training…….
The new terms and activities like traversing, sling, rappelling, climbing were the interesting vocals… I started enjoying.
Things had started rolling differently as I had received test and interview call from HCL in March 1986 and was excited to get selected in top 10 out of First Class graduates in all of eastern region.
How could I leave the chance to join the training and orientation program during June in Deradun which was coinciding with summer vacation anyways.
Summer 1986

That’s how Himalayan connection started growing once in Dehradun. Every weekend was a different exploration…Sahashradhara- Robber’s cave..trekking to Mussoorie …Dakpatthar/ Tons river/ Koti Hydraulic plant…Roorkie.
A girl from plains was overwhelmed in the nature’s abundance with mountains and rivers/falls in slopes!!
Next we trekked to Pareshnath temple in March, 1987.
Back then we never estimated distance so accurately, didn’t plan as meticulously as we do now with age. The journey and destination were discussed and the attitude was ‘We will see’..

Last trek was Vesuvius in 2017. Why I would flaunt this? We had crossed 50 by then and the same day we even explored Pompeii ruins extensively, totalling almost 30,000 steps!!!

NAGA TIBBA …….WE ARE COMING….
Well keeping my finger crossed for the Naga Tibba trek.. Hoping to explore Himalaya and my strength/stamina once more!!!
Keep an eye on my V(blog) during 1st week of April 2022…would love to share my experience with you ALL….
